(PRE-REG) Young Computational Thinkers: Unplugged Coding in K-6
• Pre-Registration is required.
Educators are increasingly being tasked with teaching coding and computational thinking to young students. This hands-on, interactive workshop aims to develop an understanding of computational thinking and the related skills and competencies through the exploration of relevant, ready-to-use activities that connect to a variety of curriculum areas.

Through participation in this workshop, educators will:
• Engage in unplugged activities that focus on developing students’ skills of decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition, algorithmic thinking and logic;
• Gain access to the activities that are explored, along with materials lists and supporting resources, so they can complete the activities with their students;
• Discover how to build upon what they already do in their classrooms to develop the foundational knowledge students need to become computational thinkers; and,
• Collaborate with colleagues and engage in meaningful discussions related to digital literacy and computational thinking.
