Effectively ‘teaching’ writing for Social Studies
Discussing writing with students can be a dull and often frustrating topic. Many students struggle with it, yet writing skills are essential to student achievement. This session will help you to remove the stigma to 'teaching writing'. The session will provide you with easy to use rubrics, classroom activities and student self- assessment strategies that will make your students more confident and successful in their writing. It will also assist you in using assessments summatively and formatively and help you streamline your marking process.

• Using mail merge features to email a whole class with individualized emails
• Some tips and tricks for how to record grades more quickly during class time
• List of functions we will cover: +, -, *, /, &, AVERAGE, IF, AND, OR, MAX, MIN, and more!

You are strongly encouraged to BRING YOUR LAPTOP to get the most out of this session, as we will build a sheet for one of your classes before you leave.
