Resiliency building is not about fixing kids;_x000D_
rather it is about building relationships grounded in the belief that caring, empathetic adults can provide supports_x000D_
and opportunities to meet the developmental needs of youth. This workshop is premised on the idea that fostering_x000D_
resiliency is not about providing a package or a program, rather it is about thinking of ways to improve the quality_x000D_
of the relationship between us and our students._x000D_
In thinking about ways to be more effective with students from at-risk environments, we need to think about_x000D_
approaches that go far beyond what we are presently doing. We start by ensuring that we as teachers are resilient_x000D_
so we can in turn begin to foster resiliency in our students; after all, only a diamond can cut a diamond.
