The session will take place at the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre (13931 Woodpath Rd SW).
Due to road construction along 37th Street SW and 130 Avenue SW access to Shannon Terrace/Environmental Learning Centre in Fish Creek Provincial Park has been altered. Please watch and follow signage for access to 130 Avenue SW off north bound 37 Street SW as well as west bound Anderson Road SW. The entrance to Shannon Terrace remains open off of 130 Ave SW.
Please come prepared to be outside all day. Snow pants, hats, gloves, snow boots, and a warm jacket are essential.
Teacher’s can park in any of the Visitor Parking lots and walk down to the Learning Centre (as indicated on the map in the speaker handouts section at the end of this description)

Join us for this half day workshop learning from and on the land. We’ll discuss what makes the
outdoors a unique learning space and how to best connect students to the land. We’ll focus
on how to incorporate nature play, guided exploration and stories from the land into numeracy
and literacy learning. Together, we’ll profile inspiring literacy and numeracy examples to provide
you with tangible ideas and tools to take back to your classroom. There will also be multiple ways
to collaborate and learn from each other along the way. Expand your learning environment and
create inclusive, meaningful connections to nearby nature or protected landscapes.
This workshop will be hosted by Alberta Parks education specialists and will be completely outdoors.
Please come prepared to be immersed in nature.
